“Killa Cats” is the intro track to Kaytranada’s debut album, Kaytra Todo. The album was released earlier this year but I just got around to checking it out over the weekend. It’s a beat record- only one track has vocals (from JMSN)- and it is a good listen although a bit repetitive with similar sounds/voicing on several of the 8 tracks. ”Killa Cats” is a great track though, definitely my favorite off the album. It’s got a hip hop Halloween meets Christmas sound and feel to it; does that make any sense?

I was pretty excited when I heard Eminem recorded “Don’t Front,” his own version of “I Got Cha Opin” from Black Moon’s classic record Enta Da Stage. Definitely one of the best albums in hip hop, no question.
“Eminem grabs Buckshot to assist him on a re-make of Black Moon’s “I Got Cha Opin” record. The track is available when you buy Eminem’s new album, MMLP2, and ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ together from select retailers before Nov. 20th.” – Duck Down
“Now let’s get it all in perspective.”

Australian electronic outfit Crooked Colours is Philip Slabber, Leon De Baughn, and Liam Merrett-Park. ”Come Down” is the second single from their forthcoming EP due to be released some time next year. It’s edgy and dark with a slow, steady, and very satisfying build. Most of CC’s tracks are a throwback to 80′s electronica with a modern synth-pop twist. ”Come Down” is one that has really stuck with me. Can’t wait to check out the full EP…
Psychemagik just released this awesome remix of Yves Simon’s 1973 song “Au Pays Des Merveilles De Juliet” with some extra “cosmic dust” as they put it…
“The UK duo, known for their beautiful production work, prolific remixing skills, obscenely vast record collections and transcendent mixtape journeys, are being heralded as a truly unique and positive presence across today’s music scenes.” – Psychemagik
“Thank You,” the newest single from Busta Rhymes upcoming album, E.L.E. 2 (Extinction Level Event 2) was just released a couple of days ago. Busta and Q-Tip deliver some legit verses on this one; it’s a great track and a lot of fun to listen to them together again. Lil Wayne and Kanye aren’t really rapping, more just saying “what’s up” and giving their support, so it’s a little misleading to say they’re featured on the song. It’s a good way to get your attention though…

It’s a great listen and perfect to drum up some excite for his forthcoming contribution to the Late Night Tales series, which will be released later this month.
