Latin Dose (10/20/08)

Let’s hear some new wave with a little indie rock in the mix!

That’s right, happy Monday everyone I’m bringing out one of my favorite Artists of 2007. These four rockers go by the band name Zoé and have been one of the hardest working bands in the rapidly growing Latin Alternative music scene. Starting in Monterey, Mexico in 1994 the band has done things with the DIY mentality and persistence has paid off. Establishing themselves as one of the hottest acts to come out Mexico and with their new partner in crime, Mexico’s EMI label, the sky’s the limit for these rockers! Their first record in 1997 quickly had the band becoming road warriors and touring and promoting relentlessly. In 2003 the band released the album that would add new sonic elements to a rock scene that was still very young in comparison. The band was praised on the 2003 release of Raconlovers but took things back to basics with their EP The Room which brought the band their first Gold Record. The stage was set for their 2006 platinum release of Memo Rex Commander y el Corazón Atómico de la Vía Láctea. Like before the band toured relentlessly and made 6 stops to the Los Angeles market alone in 2007 and packet crowds into sold out venues. In late 2007 the band released a ten year anniversary live album and have been working hard on their EMI debut set to be released November 11, 2008 entitled Reptilectric. Enjoy the attached tracks and check them out when they come through the area!

“Love” from Raconlovers (2003)

“No Me Destruyas” from Memo Rex Commander y el Corazón Atómico de la Vía Láctea (2006)
