First song is Pocketknife’s remix of Jose Gonzalez’ “Storm”. It was originally available almost a year ago on UGHH.com- and I’m not really sure why since that’s a hip hop site- but the song was just released on iTunes a couple of days ago as the b-side to a Jose Gonzalez single. It’s a great remix… I’d love to remix this remix at a remixing party…
Second song is Bernard Purdie’s “Way Back Home” from 1971. One of the best drummers you might not know about, Bernard Purdie has played with some of the best. I can never get enough funky, soul music and this song hits the spot.
Third song is from back in early 2007. “Her Morning Elegance” is from Oren Lavie’s The Opposite Side of the Sea. If this song was used in a popular movie, this song would be huge. Maybe it is actually, I have no idea. Oren Lavie grew up in Israel and he’s in his mid 30s. Most of you guys reading this email and listening to the song will probably think I’m gay for sending this song. Well you’re gay for thinking about me being gay. And maybe if you play this for some ladies they will think you have a sweet, tender side that they can relate to and love…
