My Cadillac is fabuloso!

Hello everyone, I hope you had a great weekend. This week I bring to you the great Latin-Ska/Rock sounds of Buenos Aires band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. To say this band only plays ska/rock is inaccurate, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs blend Latin rhythms, ska, jazz, reggae, funk and big band to bring a wall of noise that keeps its audience dancing all night long. Starting in Argentina in 1985 these six gentlemen took Argentina by storm and spread like wildfire. In 1994 the band released Vasos Vacious which launched them into a household name throughout Spanish speaking countries and gave way to their signature song “El Matador”.  Los Fabulosos Cadillacs have worked with artists like Debbie Harry, Mick Jones, Celia Cruz, and Fishbone and have crossed over into the ears of Anglo audiences through Europe and North America. Later that year MTV invited the band to perform and release an unplugged session which in the Latin world means you’ve arrived. In 1998 the band won the Grammy Award for Best Performance by a Latin Rock/Alternative Group and were nominated in 2000 for a Latin Grammy for Best Band and Best Music Video. With 14 albums under their belt the band went on a six year hiatus until they announced their return in early 2009. Now come March 10th Los Fabulosos Cadillacs will release La Luz Del Ritmo and go on a North American tour in support of the long anticipated return.
Enjoy the tracks below and see if you recognize “El Matador”.
