Rob Laufer‘s new album, Excruciating Bliss, is very well written and produced showcasing not only the singer/songwriter’s natural talent as a musician and producer, but his experience as well. His is a sound that has been crafted and honed throughout a career of writing songs and performing for artists such as Johnny Cash, BB King, Fiona Apple, George Martin, and many more. Laufer’s last album, Iron Age, features the song “In The Frame” which was used for the famous Hewlett-Packard “Frames” commercials and Excruciating Bliss plays like a treasure chest of songs for TV and film. It’s a very solid album and an enjoyable listen all the way through. Strong song writing and the smooth, well crafted and playful sound of Excruciating Bliss make it an album you’ll truly enjoy and one that you’ll keep coming back to.
