There are a lot of great artists and albums that I haven’t posted anything about yet.  I guess that’s why I wasn’t really surprised when I realized that I hadn’t posted anything about Lungs by Florence and the Machine, one of the best albums of 2009.  Lungs was originally released in early July.  That’s when a friend handed me the album and told me how amazing it was.  For the first couple of weeks, I didn’t really agree with him but then I started hearing what he was talking about.  The album’s sound- wild and loud, almost punk type energy set to the soft chiming of harps- slowly grew on me and soon I fell in love with it.  It’s an incredibly beautiful and melodic alt rock album filled with powerful, unescapably attractive music.  Guys are usually asked if they prefer blondes or brunettes, but you can’t forget redheads.
