Second track is from another one of my favorite albums of 2008.  The song is “So He Won’t Break” from The Black Keys’ Attack and Release.  Dangermouse produced the album and definitely added something that worked very well with The Black Keys.  In one of the past SOW emails, I think I sent either “Psychotic Girl” or “Strange Times” which are both great songs off the album.  Check it out if you haven’t yet.  Third song is the Quantic Soul Orchestra’s remix of Nas’ “Get Down”.  Not much too it, but that’s kind of what I like about it.  Quantic Soul Orchestra is something I don’t really ignore, especially when I see that they’ve remix a good track by Nas, but I haven’t heard them do anything that spectacular.  And this remix didn’t really wow me either, but with QSO is potential is definitely there.  If you haven’t heard of QSO you might still want to check them out, even if you don’t like this one… Fourth song is “Soleil” by the duo Fortin-Léveillé. First track is Pelican from the new album, ”The Alchemist Manifesto” by Adrian Quesada and Ocote Soul Sounds.  I’ve really gotten into them since hearing their first album, “El Nino y El Sol” and the remixes by Thievery Corporation and Quantic on the “ESL Remixed” album.  Adrian Quesada and Ocote Soul Sounds is made up of the members of Grupo Fantasmo and Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra.  Make sure you check out more from AQ&OSS if you like this song.

Second track is the last song on My Morning Jacket’s new album “Evil Urges”.  My Morning Jacket has been a very hard working band playing tons of shows for the last 5-8 years and it’s really starting to pay off.  The new album sounds much more refined than their previous material.  If you haven’t heard of them, I don’t think this song gives you a great idea of their sound or style but that’s also kind of what makes this song special if you have heard of them.

Third track is “Little Bird” by The Weepies.  I don’t really know much about The Weepies but I heard this song on the radio and I thought it was great…  This might be one of those tracks where I’m the only person out of all my friends that really likes it.  So basically I’m using this as my chance to find out who’s with me on this one.
